To ensure the commercial and segments shall go ON AIR on time and also need to understand the basic operation of Switcher and Audio Console. They also should know how to operate Router Control Panel for switching sources. They also operate On Air Graphics for Aston Band Bugs and Ticker. They should also know emergency sources if the automation fails and need to play any standalone source attach to switcher.

• Typical work activities include:
  • Operating Video Switcher Sony Mcs-8M
  • Operating wasp 3d(Sting Client) for on air L band, Aston band, Bugs(Live & Repeat), Ticker.
  • Analysis New promo, Fillers pkg, Commercials in a Fork Software.
  • Co-ordinate with Programming Team Regarding new changes in FPC also put in and out time of live bulletins, entertainment shows on rough sheet and this sheet attach to file folder for our reference.
  • Co-ordiante with colleague regarding Handover Work.

  Commercial Schedules

  • Schedule the all commercials as per the time band.
  • Manually enter the scroll commercial scrolls as per the timeband.
  • All the commercial activities are played on manually basis hence they have to be alert to avoid any missed of commercial.

  Breaks

  • They need to take all the breaks as per the commercial sheet.

• Vision mixers are technicians who work at a console in the gallery or studio control room. They are responsible for controlling the vision mixing desk: the pictures viewers see on their television are the result of the work of the vision mixer.Typical work activities include:
  • Viewing different types of video sources, for example from several cameras, digital video effects, graphics, router sources and outside broadcast materials.
  • Creating windows as per needs of program.
  • Under instructions from the panel producer selecting the required video source and combining them, ensuring a smooth transition between shots – this involves ‘cutting’, ‘mixing’ and ‘wiping’;
  • Controlling which camera goes on air
  • Excellent timing and coordination skills, quick reactions, high levels of concentration and the ability to handle stress are all essential as vision mixers work on live programmes and as ‘LIVE’ programmes. Normal colour vision and good hearing are also required in this role.
  • They also need to understand how to frame the Anchor
  • Communication with Studio Cameraman
